Board of Directors
Susanna was invited to be an “Emerging Artist” in 2017 and since then she has been involved with Las Artistas. A full time practicing attorney by trade, Susanna squeezes in “clay-time” for therapy and participates in shows whenever she can. She has served as President of Las Artistas since 2020 and is impassioned about preserving the Las Artistas Art and Fine Crafts Show for the El Paso community and beyond.
Art is the heart beat of every community, she feels, and having an eclectic, high-standards art show and art organization is a must in an ever-evolving city like El Paso.
Show Chair/ Vice-President
Laura graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in metalsmithing and graphic design. Her involvement with Las Artistas started as a student artist in 2010. Since then she has participated both as artist and member of Las Artistas. In 2016, she joined the board as vice-president and was also appointed Show Chair, a position that allows her to manage day to day operations of the show.
Laura strives to bring new and contemporary aspects to the show while staying true to the Las Artistas mission and its foundations.
Karen has been a member of Las Artistas for 14 years and served as treasurer of the organization since 2014. She is a retired CPA who spent her career in retail sales working at The Popular and Charlotte's Fine Furniture. She has enjoyed making her Mexican craft items for over 20 years. Travels in Mexico have inspired her wreaths and Christmas trees, and she now enjoys having more time to do the things she loves.
Pam Schuster studied metals at UTEP and through that program began selling her art at the annual fall Las Artistas Art Show. Passionate about the non-profit group, she became a board member in 2014. Pam’s art is extremely diversified, from fine jewelry to fused glass and designing structural art for her own home.
